What We Don’t See
“Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you.” Proverbs 4.25

Kathy and I prepared for our regular morning “breakfast and a show”. The show is the myriad of birds that come to our feeder outside our double windows. We are daily entertained by the jays, nut hatches, several varieties of woodpeckers and more. But that day none where to be seen.
Somewhat disappointed we began to eat. After a moment Kathy went to the window and discovered the problem. Our neighbor’s cat was lying under the window, waiting for his breakfast to arrive. Wisely, the birds stayed away until I shooed their problem away.
Sometimes people haven’t done what I thought they should in the church or other places. Sometimes they were lazy. Sometimes their commitment to the cause was weak. But other times they saw things I didn’t and I needed to see their point of view.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be aware that I see what I see, but I can’t see everything.
