It’s Not About Me

“For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.”    Mark 8.35 NRSV

          “If it’s not about me, then it's all about You.” So goes the lyric of a popular contemporary Christian song.

          “It’s not about you.”This is the first sentence of the amazingly popular book, The Purpose Driven Life.

The very concept of losing oneself into the will of God as the only genuine way to find the best life is an enigma to those living outside a life of faith.  But it is the most obvious of truths for those who live it.    

Only when we have placed our plans, our hopes, our gifts, and our future into His hands are we truly capable of becoming who we were meant to be.

It’s not about us, but it’s about the One Who made us, saved us and has such wonderfully high hopes for us.

Prayer: Lord, I give my life to You.
